About Dr. Dressel
Dr. Jeffrey M. Dressel grew up on Long Island. He attended the State University
of New York at Albany as an undergraduate, and then studied at New York
University College of Dentistry where he received his DDS degree in 1993.
After finishing dental school, he completed a 2 year residency in Dental and Oral Surgery at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn.
He began seeing patients at the family dental practice on 2nd Place in 1996.
This practice was started in a brownstone by his great grandfather in 1923
on the corner of Columbia and Union streets. Dr. Dressel has a long family
history here in Brooklyn, as his uncle and grandfather were local dentists
seeing patients in this family practice as well.
Dr. Dressel renamed the practice "Dental Care of Cobble Hill" and has been at 62 2nd Place ever since.
He is married, and has two little daughters, Eleanor Catherine and Lily Cecilia.
"I love what I do, and I always enjoy meeting new patients. From time to
time, I see patients from my Great-Grandfather's Columbia Street dental office.
It's fascinating to talk with them about what it was like to see a dentist
in those years"
This is a photograph of the intersection of Columbia and Union Streets, looking north
towards Carroll Gardens. Great-Grand-Dad's dental office was in the brownstone on the
south-west corner, above the American flag. He started his practice in 1923 and I am
still treating great-grandchildren from the original families who remained in Carroll Gardens.
